A Delhi family received a new driveway, compliments of Caputo Excavating.
The story begins a few years back, with a woman and her teenage son living a few miles from Caputo Excavating in South Kortright. One day, the son had a seizure. Ambulance, fire and medical personnel couldn’t get to the house because the driveway was too narrow and unsafe. By the time they were able to access the boy, the damage had been done and he was severely disabled.
There were similar situations which occurred at different locations, which prompted Ray Hayes and Sabrina Caputo of Caputo Excavating to vow to make a difference. They decided to offer a driveway free of charge to an elderly or disabled resident. “The goal is to help someone who may have a driveway that is inaccessible to medical transport or emergency vehicles.” said Hayes.
