A Delhi family received a new driveway, compliments of Caputo Excavating. The story begins a few years back, with a woman and her teenaged son living a few miles from Caputo Excavating in South Kortright.

Raymond Hayes was flattening gravel Sunday in the parking lot of the Catskill Veterans’ Outreach Center in Stamford, a project he volunteered three days to complete with machinery and materials donated by local businesses.

Caputo Excavating in South Kortright chose the Stamford Veterans Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6292 and the American Legion Post No. 1379, to receive the gift of a driveway, and company officials found other area businesses to support the contribution.

In it’s first offering, Caputo Excavating rebuilt a driveway for a Meridale couple, and Hayes and Sabrina are committed to repeating the giveaway and to provide safe access for a Veteran. “We want to thank our Veterans, who sacrificed their lives, and who are in need and cannot afford a new driveway.”
